Jamie Hershman - Artist Bio
Jamie Hershman was born and raised in Branford, CT. She grew up inspired by the amazing female artists in her family and always knew she has a passion for the arts since a young age.
Jamie Hershman was born and raised in Branford, CT. She grew up inspired by the amazing female artists in her family and always knew she has a passion for the arts since a young age. Jamie began practicing her art professionally around the age of 16, and from the help of her high school art teachers, Jamie managed to make her way into her dream school, Parsons School of Design in NYC.
Jamie is currently a senior at Parsons and will be graduating in the spring of 2019 with a bachelors in fine arts. She has had the opportunity to participate in many art shows and award ceremonies in her past 6 years of practicing art.
She has shown her work in multiple Branford High School art shows in both 2014 and 2015, as well as had her piece shown at the Scholastic art show in 2014. Jamie has received awards for her work as well. She has earned the Outstanding Artist Award at her high school in 2014 and 2015, and was recognized by the state of Connecticut for her artistic abilities by being awarded the Outstanding Arts Award from the Connecticut Association of Schools in 2015. Jamie has also participated in art shows at her current school, Parsons, specifically the junior art show, Fire in the Wet Lab, in 2018.
Jamie is very passionate about her practice and continues to pursue her art career by creating art, hosting classes for those who are interested in learning about art, and has been a art liaison and curator assistant at a art gallery in Harlem, NY.
